- 1911 frames either have a ramp or no ramp. Please field strip your 1911's slide off to see which one you have. -A ramped frame needs a non-ramped barrel and a non-ramped frame needs a ramped barrel.

Bushing vs. Bull

-1911 barrels can either be a bushing or bull type.

-If you look (not directly) at the tip of your upper, you will see a bushing around your barrel or nothing at all.

-If there is a bushing, then it is a bushing type barrel for a bushing type slide. If you do not see a bushing and the barrel is flush around the slide, then it is a bull type barrel for a bull type slide.
